Corning's loop of rivers and railroads
fuzzy message
Nov. 5th and 12th's hikes were great!
On the 5th, I randomly started out by walking North and ended up in the neighborhoods behind Salvation Army. Train tracks cut through and I walked them East until I could see the Rt. 17 exit. Hidden underpass hang-outs, graffiti, industrial zone's backyard, civil-engineering... interesting waterways. I like seeing the city from different angles... there are a ton of little nooks that I'd never notice from a car!
This past Sunday I headed to the river and continued walking East- passing Denison Park, a flock of geese, "Christ is the Answer," a squatters trail, and... emerging in East Corning. I never noticed the big mounded-off hump of land next to CBC. That's where the trail came out. There's a little league baseball field back there- who knew?
