Corning Hiking Club

CHC was a club that met every Sunday Morning... 7am... Year-Round @ the Corning Public Parking Lot next to McDonald's (but not the McDonald's parking lot!). Everyone was invited! This schedule may return. For the meantime, however, club hours have been de-specified. If you'ld like to arrange a hike, please contact me ahead of time and we'll work something out. See you soon! Mother's Day & The Many Parks of Corning

For today's hike, Chris and I left the baby w/ Grandma and spent the morning checking out each of downtown Corning's 7 parks: McKinley, Canfield, Denison, Little Joe, Riverside, William St. & Hillview. Although I had visited each many times, seeing them all at once was quite impressive- especially with 3 of the seven being right on the Chemung River. Soccer- Baseball- Frisbee Golf- Tennis- Volleyball- Swimming- Adult and Child Swings- Kiddie Playgrounds w/ plastic dinasaurs (of various colors, sizes and ferocities,) BBQ grills, Gazebos & countless flowering trees in blossom. These Parks Have It All!

So, if you still think there's nothing to do in Corning- just put down your beer (or put it in a paper cup) -and walk around for a couple of minutes. These parks are all over the place!
